A recent graduate from an MA in Fine Art, Laura Greenway is a multidisciplinary performance artist whose work focuses on her own experiences of mental illness. Utilising the body as a tool of communication, Laura’s work explores themes of intimacy and vulnerability, examining the relationship and dynamics between audience and performer. She additionally experiments with text-based performance, employing techniques such as automatic writing to create unique pieces that explore the topic of intrusive thoughts, a common symptom of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Sub themes of repetition and the absurd also emerge, providing analysis of the often-nonsensical nature of mental illness.
