'Reasons I'd be a bad mother' 2018

This piece explores the artist's own fears about having children in the future due to her anxiety and OCD. For this durational performance, the artist spent a whole eight and a half hours hand embroidering her intrusive thoughts surrounding being a mother onto a patchwork quilt that she had spent the previous 3 months lovingly hand making. The piece reflects on elements of care, motherhood and uncertainty, and also began her exploration into the history of embroidery in feminism and its previous use in mental health.
